Mission Indradhanush- II launched in Arunachal; team work boosts its successful implementation

Itanagar, October 8: In view of successful implementation of Mission Indradhanush Phase II in the north eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh; Tawang Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk on Wednesday formally flagged off two ambulances at the District Hospital, Tawang to mark the launching of Mission Indradhanush- II. The ambulances were destined to immunize children below 2 years of the outreach areas of Tawang district.
“Two teams have been constituted for intensified immunization of unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children”, informed Tawang DRCHO Dr. Lobsang Tempa. He further informed that the first team will concentrate in Dudunghar region while the second team will cover far flung areas like Taksang Gompa, 4 and 7 Kilo labourer camps and nomadic yak herders.

Later in a meeting at the DMO’s chamber, the DC took stock of the health scenario of the district and emphasized on the need to create mass awareness on health schemes and programme through various media and Panchayat institution for effective involvement of stakeholders to achieve the target, news agency The Arunachal Times reported.

DMO Dr. Wangdi Lama appraised the DC of various issues and problems of the health sector. He also asked the DRCHO to deliver a radio talk on the vaccination programme for mass awareness. Among others, Medical Superintendent N. Namchoom, MO, CHC Jang Dr. Rinchin Neema and health officials attended the programme, reports Tawang Vigilance.

AALO: The Mission Indradhanush-II was launched in West Siang district with administration of first oral vaccine by Aalo ADC Tamik Talom to a child at General Hospital Aalo today amid presence of large number of medical staff. However, the vaccination programme has already started in far-flung areas of the district.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Talom said the Mission Indradhanush-II should reach every nook and corner of the district. He urged the medical staff to   work with commitment for successful implementation of the programme.

Talom also flagged off the hired ambulance for emergency service in the hospital and stressed on proper maintenance of it to render humanitarian services in the hour of crisis.

PASIGHAT: East Siang DC Isha Khosla reviewed the preparation of 2nd phase Mission Indradhanush and chalked out plans to ensure that no children below 2 years are left without immunization during a meeting convened in the DC’s conference hall here today.

The meeting was attended by the PMC Chief Councillor Denong Tamuk, DMO Dr. M Perme, DRCHO Dr. T Gao, ZPM Tajing Taki and DD ICDS Ponung Ering Angu among others.

Khosla instructed the health officers to put all efforts to cover all unvaccinated children against seven preventable diseases in the district under the 2nd phase of Mission Indradhanush. She instructed the health officials to involve ASHAs and AWWs for the second phase of vaccinations.

Chief Councillor Tamuk also advised the councillors in urban areas and PRI leaders in rural areas to be proactive and to spread the message of benefits of the immunization for a better and healthy nation.
