Arunachal CM Tuki marks 4 years in office; says effective governance a cornerstone of democracy

Kimin, November 2: Completing four years of his government since November 2011, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Nabam Tuki addressed a huge public rally with the theme 'Arunachal Pradesh towards Progress' organized to celebrate the victory at Subansiri Mini Stadium on Sunday.

In his address there, Chief Minister said that effective governance is the cornerstone of a progressive democracy and stated that his government has always given thrust on people centric programmes and policies at all levels along with transparent governance and said that his government has identified many priority areas and have tried to create and strengthen the institutional mechanism to deliver our agendas, he said.
The Chief Minister in his statement  said that skill development of youth, employment generation, social security, empowerment of women, agriculture and allied sectors, tourism, health care, industries and commerce, education, border area development, enhancement of physical and social infrastructure, reformation of local self governance, administrative reforms, sport promotion along with strengthening of internal security are among the priority areas.

Tuki also said that skill development and employment generation schemes of Govt. is also huge success helping many unemployed youths to gainfully get employed in diverse field. In Sports, Tuki said, as many as 355 sportsperson have been appointed against sports quota in various Govt. departments of the state Government.

Tuki also said that state Govt. has received numerous accolades from reputed institutions for its good governance and development, all this have been possible because of teamwork and able leadership of the Chief Secretary and his team of top bureaucrats, technocrats, head of departments.

Tuki mentioned that initiatives are made to build strong foundations to strengthen the delivery systems. He also disclosed that Right to Service Act will be introduced in the next assembly session in January to make the public essential service more people friendly and easily accessible.

In health sector, Tuki informed a Territory Cancer Centre in Naharlagun having facility of radiation therapy for treatment of cancer patients will be made functional this year. He also said that low cost generic drug will be made available in all district hospitals from this year.

He also said that there is no financial crisis in the state and requested the people not to believe in the rumours doing round. All the Govt. departments have been asked to formulate schemes keeping in view the Vision Document 2030, which will be ready in three months.Hailing the Gaon Buras and Buris for their role in maintaining peace, law and order at grassroots level, he said that Govt. will provide TV sets under the Chief Minister's Rural Information Schemes to all GBs in the state. Later on  LED TV were distributed among the GBs.

Minister for Home, Horticulure Tanga Byaling also addressed the gathering and requested the people to abide by the law and maintain peace and tranquility. Saying that horticulture has huge potential to raise socio-economic status of the state, Byaling stressed the need of developing a proper mechanism to make the state one of the top horticulture producing states.

Health Minister Rajesh Tacho also requested the people to take benefit of CMUHIS.  Education and WRD Minister Tapang Taloh also hailed Tuki for leading the state towards remarkable development in all fronts. PWD Minister Gojen Gadi, Minister of Power (civil), Veterinary Phurpa Tsering, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Jomde Kena, Parliamentary Secretary (Forest and Environment) Kumsi Sidisow, former MP Takam Sanjoy and APCC President Padi Richo also attended the programme and spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Legislative Assembly Speaker and Local MLA Nabam Rebia gave the welcome address and hailed Tuki for this able leadership and his vision for development of the state. Minister for DoTC Tirong Aboh, all the Parliamentary Secretaries, Commissioners and Secretaries of various departments, Papum Pare DC, SP, all the HoDs, Panchayat leaders, GBs and public attended the rally.

Also, the Chief Minister said that two tele-medicine centre, one at ASH, Naharlagun and another at General Hospital, Pasighat will be established, he said while informing that the annual insurance coverage under Chief Minister's Universal Health Insurance Scheme (CMUHIS) has been increased from Rs.2 Lakh to Rs 3.
