Kohima, February 12: Along with the advancement that science has made over the years, the North Indian states of India are paving their way in the long developmental run and booming their economy like never before.

Nagaland, a North Indian State has come up with its first first e-commerce website aimed at promoting Indi – indigenous and independent artists from the beautiful State of Nagaland and beyond. Young Naga IT entrepreneurs have started an initiative to create a market linkage and sell 'Made in Nagaland' products to the rest of the country through eCommerce ventures – ilandlo and indihut.


The two Nagaland based eCommerce stores have started tying up with local Self Help Groups like Ladybug Soft Toy Production unit to sell soft toys which are made in Nagaland by young women, news agency The Morung Express reported.

Customers from around the country can now purchase the products by using their debit cards, credit cards and internet banking. They have also introduced 'Cash on Delivery' service for Kohima and Dimapur.

People can log in to the websites www.ilandlo.com and www.ladybug.indihut.com from their laptops or mobile phones and directly purchase the products. Both these websites were started and have been operating successfully without any government support, a press release received here stated.

While ilandlo was founded by Imtisunep with Lipokjungla Ozukum, indihut was started by brothers, Yanpvuo and Liyo Kikon “with the sole objective to promote and help in selling our indigenous products.”

Both the e-commerce websites are the ones that channelize the energy of landlocked young and vibrant talents into the global arena by making them available to the world online.
