Oram reviewes schemes for tribal people of Arunachal

Itanagar, February 18: Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram on Tuesday conducted a review meeting with the department of Social Justice and Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh at state banquet hall.

The meeting which was attended by Minister for Women Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Wanglin Lowangdong, Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi and officials from the department specially focused on various programmes and schemes sanctioned by the central government in the field of Health,Education and Skill Development meant for the welfare of the tribal people of the state.

Oram requested the State Government to give top priority to the schemes that require infrastructure development in Health, Education and skill development sectors for which the central ministry provides every possible help, news agency The Arunachal Times reported. 

The Union Minister disclosed that post metric scholarship to the tribal students of the state will be directly transferred to the students account under Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme.

While advising the department to avail financial benefits available for the tribal educated youths, Oram announced for providing ambulance to the schools and also assured to open up two new Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Arunachal Pradesh.
